Courageous Advocacy

The education we offer is to enable young people to have not only the knowledge but also the attitudes, values and characteristics that will enable them to flourish in an ever-changing and demanding world. The education we offer goes beyond the purely academic. It must enable our young people to discover their unique place in the world, their God-given purpose; to realise their potential in the knowledge that the world is a poorer place without them.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

At Green Haworth, we understand the importance of learning about other cultures and fighting against injustice in our diverse and beautiful world. We try to help others by supporting charities and events which are close to our hearts – in our local community, nationally, and across the world.

As you scroll down the page, you can see individual fundraising events, which the children have chosen to complete. However, we must remember that courageous advocacy is about making the world a better place, not just about raising money!

Home-School Values

Each half-term, we focus upon a specific value within our worship. I have shared some resources families can use to help stimulate discussion & reflection and live the faith whilst exploring each of the values and a Bible story in greater focus with your child.

Home-school values - Generosity

Home-school values - Truthfulness

Ethos group letter - Remembrance Service & Children in Need

We have also been busy delivering poppies and merchandise to every class, every day. Thank you for your generosity supporting the Poppy Appeal. There will be a Remembrance Service at 11:00am on Monday 11 November.

We asked the Ethos group to choose a prayer that can be said with your child for Remembrance Day:

Dear Lord,

We remember the fallen soldiers that have paid the ultimate price for our freedom

On this Remembrance Day,  we come to you and ask for healing for families who have lost loved ones.

We ask for protection for all our service members.

Help all of us make sure that Remembrance Day is more than just one day of gratitude                       but a continual act of thanks.

Amen
