E-Safety

The education we offer is to enable young people to have not only the knowledge but also the attitudes, values and characteristics that will enable them to flourish in an ever-changing and demanding world. The education we offer goes beyond the purely academic. It must enable our young people to discover their unique place in the world, their God-given purpose; to realise their potential in the knowledge that the world is a poorer place without them.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

E-Safety relates to ensuring the safe use of technology, particularly in relation to children’s use of the Internet and staying safe online.

E-Safety is a crucial part of our curriculum, reflecting the importance of staying safe in an increasingly digital world. We have integrated comprehensive lessons designed to teach children how to navigate the internet safely, spot potential dangers, and report any concerns.

A highlight of our E-Safety education is the annual 'Safer Internet Day,' dedicated to reinforcing these critical lessons through engaging activities and discussions.

In addition to focusing on the risks, our programme also emphasises the positive aspects of the internet. We teach children how to use the internet to spread positivity and engage in constructive online behaviour. This balanced approach ensures that our pupils are not only aware of the dangers but also understand how to use the internet as a force for good.

General information is available nationally from a variety of sources including the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) and Childnet International.
